We are moving all Atari Lynx related content over to Atari Lynx Vault and all our shop content over to K-Retro Gaming. Please update your bookmarks!
As a result of this change, the following will no longer be available: Online Lynx Emulator, Collection Tracker, Game Ratings, News. If you are interested in contributing content to Atari Lynx Vault, we are seeking editors and maintainers.
Why is this happening? First - the Atari Gamer branding is changing to K-Retro Gaming to allow us to expand to providing games, replacement parts, and mod services to other game consoles. And second - The content management system running Atari Gamer is out of date and Google AppEngine (where the website runs) will no longer allow it to run after the 30th January 2024, so in order to preserve all content we switched to a new and modern content management system and chose a website domain that better suits the subject matter. Since we are operating this website in our spare time, on top of full time family and job committments, some features had to be dropped.
When SongBird Productions started to release games for Atari Lynx in the late '90s, their games came on PCB cartridges in CD Jewel cases. In 2018, they stepped up their game and re-released their games on curved lip cartridges - unfortunately these still came with CD Jewel cases instead of an official box. Then in May this year, a poll was created to see how many people would be interested in real official boxes for these games...
And now, it looks like enough people were interested, so SongBird Productions has released official Atari Lynx style boxes for their games. A shipment has just landed in their store and it's ready to order!
This is a really exciting development for Atari Lynx fans. Having official style boxes is a must for all collectors, and they really do look amazing!
The boxes are made out of thick white glossy paper with full colour graphics on the front and rear of the box. They all feature the all-new SongBird Productions logo, which cleverly has the Atari Fuji graphic embedded within it. Each of the boxes also has a cartridge slot and space for a manual, just like the official boxes that Atari made.
The boxes are available for the following games - Championship Rally, Crystal Mines Buried Treasure, CyberVirus, Lexis, Loops, MegaPak, Othello, Remnant, S.I.M.I.S. and T-tris. Each of the boxes will cost you $9 (USD) or as a pack of all ten - $69.95 (USD). Shipping is not included in that price.
As a bonus right now if you order boxes and re-released games in the same order, you will get a $5 refund on each of the games. If you order Lexis, Ponx, and SFX you will get a further $10 discount. The refund will be sent upon order confirmation.
You can order these from the SongBird Productions online store. Scroll down to "CFLBOX Lynx game box" or "CFLBOX10 Lynx game box x10 collection" and place your order! Atari Gamer has just ordered the 10 box collection, so once they arrive, an unboxing/review will be put up!
