We are moving all Atari Lynx related content over to Atari Lynx Vault and all our shop content over to K-Retro Gaming. Please update your bookmarks!
As a result of this change, the following will no longer be available: Online Lynx Emulator, Collection Tracker, Game Ratings, News. If you are interested in contributing content to Atari Lynx Vault, we are seeking editors and maintainers.
Why is this happening? First - the Atari Gamer branding is changing to K-Retro Gaming to allow us to expand to providing games, replacement parts, and mod services to other game consoles. And second - The content management system running Atari Gamer is out of date and Google AppEngine (where the website runs) will no longer allow it to run after the 30th January 2024, so in order to preserve all content we switched to a new and modern content management system and chose a website domain that better suits the subject matter. Since we are operating this website in our spare time, on top of full time family and job committments, some features had to be dropped.
The clear PET protector sleeves for Atari Lynx game boxes that we sell in our store require some assembly. This is a guide that shows how to get these sleeves ready for use.
Sleeves come folded flat and they have a layer of protective film to prevent scratches during shipping. The film is clear but not as shiny and transparent as the actual protector itself so we recommend that you peel it off. The film runs about half a centimetre short along one of the sides of the sleeve as shown in the photo below. You can use this part of the film to start peeling it off. Simply peel it with your fingernail.
Once the film is peeling off, you can grip it better and peel one side off completely. The film may not come off evenly all the time, especially when the film meets a corner. Keep peeling the film off on one side of the sleeve until it's completely peeled, then you can turn the sleeve around and peel the remaining film off.
WIth the film off, you can now fold the sleeve. First make the sleeve into a rectangular prism by bending out one of the short sides from the inside at a 90 degree angle relative to the long side. This will also cause the opposite short side to ride up, bend that side at 90 degrees from the outside so it's parallel to the first short side. You can then fold in the locking tabs.
When putting a game box into the sleeve, make sure to insert it so that the locking tab is towards the back side of the box. This will give you an unobstructed view of the box cover art!
