We are moving all Atari Lynx related content over to Atari Lynx Vault and all our shop content over to K-Retro Gaming. Please update your bookmarks!

As a result of this change, the following will no longer be available: Online Lynx Emulator, Collection Tracker, Game Ratings, News. If you are interested in contributing content to Atari Lynx Vault, we are seeking editors and maintainers.

Why is this happening? First - the Atari Gamer branding is changing to K-Retro Gaming to allow us to expand to providing games, replacement parts, and mod services to other game consoles. And second - The content management system running Atari Gamer is out of date and Google AppEngine (where the website runs) will no longer allow it to run after the 30th January 2024, so in order to preserve all content we switched to a new and modern content management system and chose a website domain that better suits the subject matter. Since we are operating this website in our spare time, on top of full time family and job committments, some features had to be dropped.

  3. In 2019 we have eleven new games for the Atari Lynx

Atari Gamer, has been running the Atari Lynx 30th Birthday Programming Competition over the past few months and we now have the final submissions! All eleven of them! That's right, that's eleven new games for you to play and rate. We do admit that some are very well polished and others are more on the "tech demo" side, but all are worth having a look at.

Though the Atari Lynx may not have been as successful in the past, it really was and is an amazing gaming console. Its impressive feature set and the ease of developing games for it make it ideal for home brewers. Whether you're on the advanced side and code in Assembly or just starting out and writing games in C with the TGI library, you can have a lot of fun with the Lynx (see programming resources here). The amount of submissions for this competition has been overwhelming and it just shows how amazing the Lynx home brew scene is!

If you haven't checked it out, go over and have a look at the official Celebrating Atari Lynx 30th Birthday page here at Atari Gamer. You'll find more than just the new games there!

However, you're really here for all of the new ROMs right? Well what are you waiting for? You can download the 👉 full ROM package here 👈.

These ROMs are playable in the Online Lynx Emulator here at Atari Gamer, or the usual emulators like Handy, Mednafen and RetroArch.

Be sure to read the README.txt file for additional instructions and details on how to run all the ROMs on AgaCart as well as on the Lynx SD. As a bonus, if you are using the Lynx SD, there is a new loader ROM provided, 30bday.lnx which makes launching each of the games a more fun experience, so check it out.

Now this celebration is a part of a programming competition, so your feedback is very much appreciated so we can judge each of the entries better. Go over to the Atari Lynx 30th Birthday Club over at Atari Age and have your say!

Keep on Lynxing! 🕹
